If you have acne and have looked for an effective treatment, you're probably very tired of hearing the same old claims - "decrease acne in just two days" or "guaranteed best in the market". Unfortunately many acne treatments produce a lot of hype, but very few deliver on the promises they make.
Unfortunately this means that many acne sufferers become more and more desperate to find a solution. It's quite possible you've tried dozens of products in the hope of success, only to find you've wasted your money yet again. No matter how hard you try to resist, each time you see another list of amazing claims you can't resist the temptation; you just have to try it. Maybe this time it really will work.
The reality is that getting rid of acne requires some hard work. It's not fun having acne, and the feeling that people are staring at you can make you feel very isolated and embarrassed. It's easy to get depressed and let acne ruin your social life, because it's easier to sit at home than go and hang out with your friends where other people might see your acne.
The bottom line when it comes to treating your acne is to know what it is you want to achieve, and do what it takes to make that happen. That may sound a bit silly, because naturally the automatic response is to say I just want to get rid of my acne, that's my goal. But it's still important to set the goal, and give it a realistic time frame. Acne won't disappear overnight, so just accept that you're going to have to put in some hard work over a long period of time, and get on with it.
Basically, you need to start with a routine. Acne is caused by bacteria in the skin, coupled with oiliness and clogged pores, so that's where you need to start. Remove the bacteria and the stuff they feed on, and over time the amount of acne will be reduced. Buy a skin-cleansing product that's suitable for your skin - and most importantly, use it! It's not going to achieve anything if it just sits on the bathroom shelf. You need to get a routine happening, and follow it every day without fail. It's a long-term investment of time, but once it becomes a habit, you'll start to see the positive results.
Even better, once you've been sticking to your routine a while and seeing results, it becomes even easier to pull out that cleaner and get on with your routine. Having clearer skin is what you want, and once you realize that keeping your skin clean is reducing your acne, you'll realize that persisting with your routine will eventually lead to your skin being completely clear.
