Those of us who suffer from acne should, at the very least, learn what skin care products are available that will help keep acne under control. I'm sure you realize how that a ton of acne skin care products are available so it is not hard to find skin care products, it is hard to figure out what is actually going to work for you. Also everyone is different, so what works for you may not work for someone else. Don't get discouraged, you will find a product that works for you, it just may take some time to find the right thing.
One prescription product that has helped a lot of people is Accutane, but you must have a prescription from your doctor to buy this product. Accutane is only prescribed to people who have severe acne because this is a very strong medication that you swallow and it does have side effects. Never take any medication without looking into the side effects. Sometimes it seems as if the side effects are worse than the problem!
A very popular, non-prescription acne skin care product is ProActiv. Benzoyl peroxide in prescription strength is fighting power of ProActiv. This is a system with three parts to it; a renewing cleanser, revitalizing toner and repairing lotion.
Retin-a is another acne skin care product. You apply this to your skin and it treats acne, acne scarring and stretch marks, just to name a few. There are other acne products out there that are applied topically. You can try specific essential oils such as tea tree oil, Rosewood oil, clove oil and Bergamot oil. Essential oils have become very popular and can even be found in some grocery stores. You will definitely be able to find them in a natural foods store.
If you are just beginning your search in acne skin care and you do not suffer from severe acne, you should try the most natural products first, such as the essential oils then you can work your way up from there. If you have tried everything OR if you have severe acne, do not put off or be too embarrassed to seek help from a medical professional. The sooner you get your acne under control the happier and confident you will feel.
